Service updates are bug repairs to Position Analyst.
To see if you have the latest service update for your version, you'll need to press the application's "About" menu (as shown below).
Looking at the "About" dialog, see what service-update number you have. If it's less than the number we're currently offering for your version,

Service Update: 0 ( There are no service updates needed for this version at this time. )
then please download the latest service update. (To perform the service update, simply double-click the downloaded package.)
